What is a will?
A Will is a legal document that clearly sets out your wishes for the distribution of your assets in the unfortunate event of your death and who you want to appoint as your executor, that is, the person who will be responsible for distributing your estate.
Having a clear, legally valid and up-to-date Will is the best way to ensure that your assets are protected and distributed according to your wishes.
If you don’t have a Will the your assets will be distributed according to a pre-determined formula with certain family members receiving a defined percentage of your assets despite what you may have wished.
For more information about how we can help you prepare your Will, please contact Richard Chidiac on (02) 9707 3888 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
In the unfortunate case of your death, an application will need to be made to the Supreme Court to allow your executor to deal with your assets and distribute your estate in accordance with your Will.
The team at Chidiac Legal will assist with preparing the necessary legal documents required to obtain a grant of probate.
